TP Flanagin/Geyer: Individual differences in brain connectivity of the human vestibular network

PhD student Judita Huber:

"The aim of my PhD project is to investigate brain network changes upon vestibular perceptions. For this I am analysing data from three different populations of patients and healthy participants with experience of vestibular perception in different contexts, varying from intermediate to slow time scales.

For the first project, the aim is to investigate network changes in patients experiencing long-term changes of vestibular perception. For the second project, network changes at intermediate time scales will be investigated by utilising galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) in healthy participants. In the third project, I will perform connectivity analyses of recently recorded resting state data of cosmonauts (n=10) before and after space travel to study the effects of long-term exposure to microgravity on intrinsic brain function with a focus on the cortical vestibular network."
